          KOM OMBO
THE GREAT TEMPLE OF  HARWAR AND SOBEK

Situated forty kilometres from Aswan the Komo Ombo Temple complex unusually incorporates two in one.

Dating from the eighteenth Dynasty the Temple successfully combines homage to Harwar (Haroeris – see Horus), the Falcon headed son of Ra and the Crocodile headed Sobek. Here the examples of cut-in relief are superb.
