                       GIZA
            GREAT PYRAMIDS

The most impressive of the Great pyramids is that which was built for Khunm Khufu (Cheops) a Pharaoh who ruled during the forth dynasty of the old Kingdom (2589–2566 BC).

The second most impressive is that of his son Khafre (Chephren) who was Pharaoh during twenty-four years (2558 – 2532). His face is said to be that of the great Sphinx, although this is debatable due to some controversy dating the sphinx as far back as 5000BC.

The third and final predominant pyramid is that of Menkaura, the son of Khafre. Menkaura ruled for thirty-five years (2532 – 2503BC). Smaller pyramids next to Kheops’s giant were for his Queens such as Meritities.
